About Us
The Hacksmith team is made up of outside-the-box thinkers who take fictional ideas from comics, movies, and video games and make real working prototypes. We make Viral Videos of our creations on YouTube, and in doing so make dreams a reality by building real life superhero tech; as seen in our channel trailer! We take pride in inspiring youth around the world to get into STEM and other related fields, while always dreaming bigger. We are social influencers and we make money by selling advertising to companies who want to reach our targeted viewer demographic.

We are looking for a passionate, self motivated individual who can identify problems and solve them independently. There will be ample opportunity to take on greater responsibility, overcome challenges, and meaningfully contribute to the team. Please note that this is a temporary contract position to cover a maternity leave (up to 18 months).

Responsibilities include:
Administrative Assistant duties 
  • Reduce the workload of the management team by accepting delegated tasks and proactively taking on new responsibilities
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, interviews, and travel on behalf of the team
  • Accounts payable functions

Office Manager duties 
  • General tidying, stocking supplies and seeking areas for continuous improvement in office efficiency
  • Schedule culture building activities (ie. virtual game nights, holiday parties and birthdays)
  • Act as first point of contact for visitors, accept deliveries and schedule outgoing shipments

HR Administration duties 
  • Answer or direct employee inquiries regarding HR matters
  • Assist with the recruitment process
  • Administer the company’s Health Spending Account (HSA)
  • Maintain complete employee records in the HRIS database (Humi)
  • Ensure compliance with existing company policies
  • Scheduling training and actively participating in safety initiatives

About You
You’re an administrative professional with exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills. You excel in a fast-paced environment and are able to manage and prioritize numerous and varied tasks. You pride yourself on your attention to detail and quick response times whenever needed. You understand the importance of precision and follow-through and enjoy being the go-to person for help and support.

Requirements of the Role
  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • 2+ years’ experience as an administrative assistant or office manager
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Google Apps / Microsoft Office
  • Must be flexible to allow for everyday changes 
  • Ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality to protect sensitive information

  • Prior experience with administrative HR related duties

You must be legally allowed to work in Canada and be local or willing to relocate. This role is based in Cambridge, Ontario and telecommuting is not an option.

Compensation

$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
